Starting Point is primarily a directory of premium best of the web websites. It has added on a general web search capability using the Alta Vista search engine and also a one at a time search using other search engines. Not quite a meta search because it adds little value. If you have a quality website that is rich in content, you may want to submit it for consideration. I think the quality of this directory has declined considerably over the years and currently has a definite bias towards including major commercial sites. It is virtually a collection of business listings. I checked three catagories and couldn't find a single website by an individual contributor. Starting Point has a variety of other search services that are basically "me too" type things that is getting rather common as they strive to be a "portal".
